The Reboot is now Live, and weekly Comic submissions have started up once again, folks.
Now, for the question I'm sure many of you have had about this...
Well, simple answer, the original comic was something I hardly put any effort in when I first started it. I mean, just take a serious look at some of those first backgrounds. Geez. I mean, really? Also, the odd jumps from Line Art, to Grey scale, to Color? That was just unprofessional.
This whole thing was originally suppose to be a practice comic, to help me become better as an artist. I mean, it was this, or join an OCT, and frankly, my last experience with one of them was less than ideal. So, I started a comic, and not just any comic. A comic with a story type that I had NEVER attempted before. I wanted to do something with action, with violence, and maybe a dash of insanity. Instead, I went with a comedy with possible romance and (something else I never approached before) Transformation and Transgender elements. The result was Tangent-Valley.
Now, that was good and all, but looking back at the early months of it, I can't help but flinch from the degree of mistakes I had made. First and foremost, giving in to community peer pressure. I THOUGHT I had to be a, quote, TG/TF Artist due to the elements my comic carried. I thought I had to draw certain things to appease an audience I had managed to wrangle up, and because of that, I did and said a few things I WISHED I could take back. Not all of this was evident in those early pages, but I knew what I was thinking back then, and I didn't like how it tied in with the comic. So this time I'm restarting this comic, and I'm drawing it for ME. I'm not giving in to what I believe a portion of my audience desires. This is MY story, and I'm going to tell it that way I WANT to.
Anyway, another reason the Reboot is taking place, which I'm sure quite a few of you have already learned, "Felix was NOT suppose to be the Main Character". Yep, when I started this comic that little cat girl with Belle/Burt was not suppose to be the character that we followed and learned about. They were, if anything, just suppose to be an example of a newcomer to the Valley. The actual comic was just going to be a slice of life and back stories for different characters in the Valley, and the comic itself was going to actually become a Group on deviantart. I decided early on though that, No, I wanted this comic and its world to be mine, and didn't actually feel like sharing it with others. Oh, but back to Felix and the not main character bit. Due to that reason, you'll likely notice that Felix didn't really act much like the Felix we know now. He was timid, scared, panicky, and didn't have pants. XD
(...The early Burt was also Burt, and not Belle. If that made any sense...)
Anywho, I don't really know what else to write right now, and really want to get back to drawing and coloring up a couple more pages. So, if you have any questions about all this, just let me know.
